Charities' fear over failed banks

UK charities say they fear they have lost up to £120 million of funds invested in collapsed Icelandic banks.

UK charities fear they may have lost up to £120m of funds invested in failed Icelandic banks.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations says at least 60 members have reported funds may be at risk.

The NCVO has met ministers, who are promising to do all they can to protect an estimated £1bn held by charities, UK councils and other bodies in Iceland.

A Treasury delegation is in Reykjavik and the UK and Iceland say they will now work together for a solution.

The group includes officials from the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority.

'Disconcerting remarks'

The crisis sparked a war of words between London and Reykjavik on Thursday, with Gordon Brown criticising the Icelandic authorities for failing to guarantee UK depositors would get their money back.

Under Iceland's financial regulations, the government is supposed to pay up to £16,000 compensation per account at a total cost of £2.2bn.

A spokesman for Mr Brown said the UK now hoped to work "constructively and co-operatively" with the Icelandic authorities.

Icelandic Prime Minister Geir Haarde had accused the UK of being responsible for the collapse of the country's third largest bank, Kaupthing, after anti-terrorism laws were used to freeze assets in the UK.  (Like Iceland is a terrorist.)

On Friday, Mr Haarde confirmed both countries were working together but said Mr Brown's comments had been "disconcerting" and "not very helpful".

Meanwhile, the UK government has denied claims of "complacency" after it apparently ignored warnings in July about Icelandic banks facing collapse.

Lib Dem peer Lord Oakeshott and Tory MP Michael Fallon both raised the issue with ministers on separate occasions.

They were reassured savers would be protected by law.

A Treasury spokesman said: "As the minister made clear at the time, the Icelandic authorities have a legal obligation to pay out depositors under their existing compensation scheme and we expect them to honour this commitment."

He added it was not the role of the UK government to advise UK residents and citizens of financial institutions around the world, and few people had anticipated the current situation.

Chancellor Alistair Darling, who is in Washington for meetings with other G7 finance ministers and the International Monetary Fund, told the BBC that simply "talking" would not lead to a solution.

'Uncertain position'

Meanwhile, as details of charity deposits emerged, a cancer hospital in Manchester has announced it was the latest victim of the Icelandic bank collapse.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, based in Withington is facing losses of £7.5m after depositing the funds with Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander. Up to £6.5m was charity money.

The Cats Protection League said it also had £11.2m deposited in a UK bank owned by the collapsed Kaupthing.
NCVO said City Minister Paul Myners had given no guarantees during their meeting that such assets would be secure, although he was "reassuring".

Chief executive Stuart Etherington said: "He was saying the government would do all it can to ensure the assets of these charities are reunited with them. He was very positive about that.

"What's important is the charities which have been affected by this come forward. If we're going to secure adequate compensation for them, with the strength of the UK government, it's important they come forward."

Some NCVO members which provide services for councils fear they will not be paid if town halls lose money in the crisis.

Most of the charities which have investments in troubled Icelandic banks have not yet been named, but they are thought to include major organisations.

Other charities known to be affected include Naomi House children's hospice in Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, which has £5.7m of deposits invested with KSF

The Physiological Society in London has £523,000 invested with the same bank, and Samaritans has links to KSF because it is the parent company of Investment Managers, which looks after the charity's investment portfolio.

Graham McGeown, of the Physiological Society, said: "This is a difficult time for our organisation. We have £523k tied up in KSF and are not entirely sure if we will get this money back.

"With NCVO we are calling on the government to help protect our money as well as other organisations who may also be involved in the banking crisis." Under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, charities classified as small businesses are covered for the first £50,000 of any investments.

But it is not clear whether they would benefit from the wider guarantee given to individual savers by the chancellor that they would recover all of their money.

The NCVO's head of campaigns and communications, Louis High, said many of its members were also concerned about local authorities' ability to pay for services.

He said: "For many smaller organisations that rely on this money and have tight financial constraints, non-payment for their work could be disastrous or even spell their death knell."

The organisation has called a sector-wide summit to examine the potential impact of a recession and what can be done to protect charities from financial disaster.

He said a government delegation was now in Iceland to find a solution to the current situation.

"This is part of the action the Treasury is taking action to ensure the interests of all retail depositors are safeguarded and that legal obligations to UK creditors are honoured."

Prime Minister Gordon Brown reacted with anger on Thursday after the Icelandic government refused to guarantee the deposits of UK citizens with money in three of its biggest banks, following their collapse.

Crisis talks

Under Iceland's financial regulations, the government is supposed to pay up to £16,000 compensation per account at a total cost of £2.2bn.

Mr Brown is angry as the UK has received no assurances from the Icelandic government that they will meet this commitment. Treasury officials have travelled to Iceland for crisis talks on repayment.

Lord Oakeshott, a pension fund manager and former director of Warburg Investment Management, raised the alarm about possible shortfalls in the compensation funds - and the danger of an Icelandic bank collapse - in written questions more than two months ago.

In the first question, he asked how much cash was in the Icelandic compensation fund and if Britain would be left to pick up the bill if there was a shortfall.

He was told by Treasury minister Lord Davies that the liabilities of the UK's Financial Services Compensation Scheme would be limited to "topping-up" funds provided by the country in which the bank is based.

In a second question, he asked: "What steps [have] the United Kingdom financial authorities taken to satisfy themselves, independently of the Icelandic financial authorities, of the solvency and stability of Icelandic banks taking deposits in the United Kingdom and of that of the Icelandic Deposit Guarantees and Investor-Compensation Scheme behind which the United Kingdom Financial Services Compensation Scheme stands as guarantor of last resort?"

Lord Davies, for the government, replied that there was no concern about the liquidity or capital base of Icelandic banks operating in the UK: "All UK-incorporated subsidiaries of Icelandic banks regulated by the Financial Services Authority continue to meet threshold conditions."

Some banks had been allowed to open branches in the UK through a process known as "passporting," which meant they were not regulated by the FSA, explained Lord Davies.

But he added: "The FSA has a regular dialogue with overseas regulators and firms where the firms passport into the UK, to share information about the firms and specifically their UK operations."

'Sky high rates'

He also assured UK citizens with money in Icelandic banks that they would be "protected against any losses in a similar way as if their savings were in a British bank".

On Monday, Lord Oakeshott again quizzed Lord Davies about how much money was in the Icelandic compensation fund and what would happen if it "cannot or will not pay out".

He told peers: "If my cash were in an Icelandic bank I would be very worried indeed: the currency has collapsed, interest rates are sky high and bank liabilities are hundreds of thousands of pounds for each Icelandic citizen. Would the minister be happy if his savings were in an Icelandic bank?"

In contrast to the lengthy and detailed reply he had given in July, Lord Davies said he had not been "fully briefed" on the situation in Iceland.

"It is not for me at the dispatch box to judge whether it is safe to invest in Icelandic banks," he told peers.

"However, the safeguarding of their position will depend on co-ordinated action in which this country must play a leading role."

Speaking earlier on Friday, Lord Oakeshott accused the government and the FSA of ignoring the growing warnings from the City about the position of Icelandic banks, one of which, Icesave, had deposits that were almost the equivalent of Iceland's entire GDP.

"I asked these various, very hard questions and I got a very complacent answer back from the treasury minister, he told the BBC News Channel, adding he had been alerted to problems in Iceland by credit rating agencies, which had downgraded the country's banks.

"The Financial Services Authority is responsible for the security of British savers' money. They should not have trusted the Icelandic banks to look after £5bn of their money," he added.

Minister grilled

The peer said that together with Lib Dem Treasury spokesman Vince Cable, he had put his concerns about the Icelandic banks to the new head of the FSA, Lord Turner, in an hour long meeting on Tuesday, adding Lord Turner had been "very receptive".

Concerns were also raised in July by the Conservative deputy chairman of the Treasury Select Committee, Michael Fallon, who asked junior Treasury minister Kitty Ussher how much money was in the compensation fund, after press reports there was a shortfall.

Ms Ussher told him: "I do not have figures for the Icelandic compensation scheme."

Mr Fallon then asked if she was satisfied that British investors in Icelandic banks are fully guaranteed in the event of a bank collapse.

Ms Ussher replied: "I am satisfied that the law exists to guarantee them, yes."

Mr Fallon: "You are satisfied that the law exists to guarantee them?"

Ms Ussher: "Yes, under a combination of European and British law."

Mr Fallon: "So they will get all their money back?"

Ms Ussher: "That is the legal situation."

Sisters and Brothers, through this post I jus wanted to share how big result a gossip, a rumor can cost. A life! Can we borrow? Can we create? Can we share at the least or donate? NO. Think about this case islamically. If only they were muslims, brothers and sisters, and had taken the wrong decision of ending their lives? WHO IS TO BLAME?

Allah Says in Qur'an

There is a beautiful explanation by Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam, reg Gheebah - backbiting:

Abu Huraira (r.a.) narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w.s) said, “Do you know what is backbiting?” They (the companions) said: “Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he (the Prophet) said: “Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like.” It was said to him: “What if what I say about my brother is true?” He said: “If what you said about him is true then you would have backbitten him, and if it is not true, then he is slandered (buhtaan)"

How an easy explanation. But it is a lot easier to backbite than to even remember this hadith. My wife started to panic.  Both of us have to report for work on Monday!  We can't just make our son, a become a "latchkey kid" in an instant and besides he's three years old.  My mom can't come because she has to look after my dad and elder brother, my mother-in-law can't come because she's ....well...dead for a couple of years now.  There's just no one else to go to.   I was tempted to call my manager and ask (I was actually planning to beg....) if it's Ok to skip work that day.  Thinking that the maid just had a grand time visiting her family and decided to return on Monday morning.  Then my son cough his lungs out!  A really nasty cough full of pleghm.  Right then and there my wife decided that she will skip work and I go.  Monday came and went still the maid of our dreams never returned. :(  That's goes to show that you just can't trust people anymore. :(

Let's admit it.  Maids, are one of the most important people that you will ever get to live with.  Well ..... not as important as your wife and children of course.  But!  They are the people that you will depend on, to keep house and to look after your children when your away at work.  Specially in our case when both my wife and I work to make ends meet.  Gone are the days when a family can live on a single paycheck.  Now even if both parents are working, money can still be tight.  Agree?

My only wish is to find a trust worthy maid, that won't abandon you, won't abuse your kindness and most specially won't hurt my son when my wife and I are at work. :)

It's really causing me a headache why she left.  We were very good employers (modesty aside) .  We treat her right. We pay her a large salary. (Well large by my standards, anyway)  I wonder what's wrong with us?  :(

I'm kind of at odds with my figure. I'm 5'5 and I can't believe I'd admitting my weight on my blog but somewhere between 135 and 140 pounds. Scales and I don't run in the same circles. Or any circles at all for that matter. I think I'm pretty proportioned for my height and weight. I know I'm not overweight by any means. But let's face it. Everybody has some issue with their body. I've always had small boobs and a nonexistent butt. Back when I was 120 (the heavenly weight I would do evil things to go back to - and yet of course I still thought I was fat then)...wait, where was I going with that? There's my short term memory thing again. I think I'm going to call it my Dory complex from now on. And if you don't know where that comes from, you need to sit down - scratch that - you need to go rent Finding Nemo, sit down, and devote two hours of your day to its humor.

But my current weight which I hope is closer to 135 than 140 but I kind of doubt it. Some days I look in the mirror and I see this belly and omg are those love handles and then my god, those thighs! Other days I look in the mirror and while still small, my boobs are bigger. Can't complain about that. And turn around....HEY! What is that thing attached to the top of my legs?! Who knew the back of pants could actually fit properly? And the stomach doesn't look bad some days. Some days it does this really tricky thing where it looks flat and almost ab-ish. These are the days that I convince myself I don't need to diet. Those are also the days I don't look at my thighs. Because good day or bad day, I will always hate my thighs. Which is odd because before a year ago, I never understood womens issues with their thighs. I barely knew mine existed beyond the fact of having to shave them. Then one day I looked into that tricky mirror and OMG! What are those mammoth things on top of my calves?! And they've been that way ever since.

But moving on. I know what they are going to put on my tombstone when I die. Because it will without fail be the cause. I imagine it will look something like this - but prettier.

We humans don't abide warnings. We look at warnings such as "MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD" "DISTURBING MATERIAL" and "DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU!" as open invitations to do just that. This little tingly feeling in our brains that whisper "Oooh, but I do wonder what they mean by that." And then another one of your multiple personalities says quite reasonably, "You'll never know if you don't look." Very true. So you don't abide the warnings and bad things happen. Like you die. Or your retinas burn out from the horrible imagery. Case in point. See below.

I saw this on Lady Banana's blog and she had the warning "Very very strange" to guide me. That little tingling in my brain started and the voice whispered, "But why is it strange?" If she would have told me that the Pearce Sisters were fish butchers that found people out at sea and then roasted their bodies so that they could have tea parties with them then the tingling would have completely disappeared and I would have merrily went on my little way without ever seeing the video.  But nooooo. And now I've seen it. It makes me think of all the horror movies I've seen that are the least bit similar to this and the terrifying realization that there are people like this in the world today. If there weren't, this video would just be weird and slightly disturbing. But because there are people like that, somewhere that I really hope I never meet, it's very very very disturbing. Shudder.

Slick Rick's segment was off the hook, MC Lyte did over the "Ruler's Back" Ghostface and Biz Markie connected for "La di Da Di"  Spliff Star and Busta Rhymes rocking an eye patch covered "The Show"  Dana Dane and Fabolous performed "Hey Young World."  The Ruler even found time to perform his classic "Children's Story" equipped with back up dancers toting pajama's and even a bed.  (Ya'll tucked in?)

De La Soul's ceremony was equally dope, the introduction was provided by actors Joy Bryant and Michael Rappaport who even admitted that he named his son after Maceo.  Q-tip set it off performing his verse on "Roller Skating Jam Saturday," and Estelle singing the hook, next up was Cee-Lo with his rendition of "Potholes on My Lawn" followed by the Mighty Mos Def and Chuck D of Public Enemy with "Stakes Is High."  Prince Paul kept it moving behind the wheels,  while EPMD finished up the dedication with "Ego Trip" and then to cap it off De La performed "Me, Myself, and I" and "Buddy" with another appearence from Q-tip to recite his verse on Buddy.

Isaac Hayes was honored by Scarface performing the Geto Boys Classic "Minds Playing Tricks on Me" which borrowed from "Hung Up on My Baby"  Estelle singing Mary J. Blige "I Love You" which samples "Ikes Mood" then Cee-lo sang Isaac's own "Look of Love" and Mos Def performed "Warning" by Notorious B.I.G. which samples "Walk on by" off of Hot Buttered Soul.

Too Short's dedication began with Luke Campbell proclaiming how good Short Dawg said the word bitch, Beeyaatch!  Lil' John, Kid Rock and Bun B went over a few Too Short Tracks, then Scarface came out and performed "The Ghetto"  The Pimp himself came out to the beat of "Gettin It" and with Face they finished Too Shorts dedication off right.

Naughty By Nature was the Final dedication of the evening.  Eve and Tracy Morgan did their Introduction with New Jersey's own Queen Latifah on the help out.  Wyclef began it by playing "No Woman no cry" by Bob Marley which transitioned nicely into "Ghetto Bastard" here Juelz Santana got twisted up in Treach's tricky wordplay and couldn't keep up with the flow but still did his thing no doubt.  "Arm me with Harmony" was uttered by Big Boi from Outkast then it was on, Sir Luscious Leftfoot recovered Naughty's dedication nicely and capped it off with a nice lil' freestyle with Fatha Clef on the Geetar at the end.  Naughty By Nature shut it down coming out to "Uptown Anthem" and "Hip-Hop Hooray" to close the show off nicely and leave me wanting a naughty by nature T-shirt

Around the campus today (and several times each semester) there are older men, ranging from about 55 - 75, literally soliciting for Jesus. The run down is this, as you walk the side walks of the campus you will find at every place the pavement crosses and every turn an old man. Some of them standing within only feet of one another. As you walk past each of these men they will try to give you a little green book of psalms. Now as they attempt to give it to you, you have two choices. Choice A, you take the book and say thank you regardless of whether you want it or not. Choice B, you say no thank you and then they say something like "Well, god bless you." or "I'll be praying for you." Religious lines meant for one thing only, to try to give a bit of guilt to someone who did not recieve the bible they were presented with.

They are trying to guilt people into Christianity!

That is ludacris! I don't think I've ever been more outraged then by these men concerning any facet of my faith. I love God and all that the bible stands for, but when I try to nicely reject them they spring that stuff on me. It makes me feel like an ass for telling them to keep their bible because I am secure in my faith and that they should try to give it to someone that either can't afford one, or truly needs the enlightenment. I don't like having this dislike in me, it makes me feel like they are questioning everything about my faith, which I've had to deal with countless times since I moved to Texas. Apparently it isn't ok to be Catholic anymore. I guess I missed something in between the 5 years I was gone from the state.

I don't enjoy hate speech and I am not an atheist, though I don't condemn them either, but this is rediculous in my opinion. Why can't we simply do as we have done for years and allow everyone to choose to believe or not and pray for the ones that don't without having to chastise the faithful. I could go on, but I don't want this to turn into a blog about how much I hate being the customer for someone selling Jesus. I think that sort of cheapens the whole meaning of faith.

That will be my last words on the matter.

On an up note I have finally gotten the Sunday night game in order, I have made friends with my downstairs neighbor, and I have almost finished work on the revised Game Group Rules. They should be finished from editing in a few days and I should have a prototype up on The Gamer Boards by Friday hopefully. Craving an on-the-job snack
It’s 3 p.m. You’re at work—and starving. What should you reach for? Well, if answering e-mails or typing a memo has been your most strenuous activity that day, avoid high-calorie bars, advises ADA spokesperson Suzanne Farrell, MS, RD. That means choosing one containing between 150 to 250 calories.

The PowerBar Pria Complete Nutrition bar ($1.49; at most grocery stores) is a good option. With 170 calories and 11 grams of protein, you can get a healthy energy boost that’ll tide you over till dinner. But beware: These bars aren’t substitutes for real food, so they can’t fly solo as a meal.

Energy for a hard workout
If you’re after sustained energy, a low-glycemic-index (GI) bar may be a good choice, says Steve Hertzler, RD, PhD, an assistant professor at The Ohio State University’s Department of Human Nutrition who has done two studies on energy bars. Because a low-GI bar keeps your blood sugar stable over time, you avoid the sugar high and low you might get from sugary bars. After all, who wants an energy crash 45 minutes into a 10-mile hike or intense workout?

Try a Solo bar ($1.99; at Whole Foods Market and GNC stores), any Balance Gold Bar ($1.39; at grocery stores), or one of PowerBar’s new Nut Naturals bars ($1.49; at grocery stores). All three bars are labeled “low-glycemic index,” because they balance protein, carbohydrates, and fat in a way that gives you a sustained energy release. Anything with a good balance of fat and fiber is going to lower the glycemic-index response, Dorfman explains. Seventy-five percent of pregnant women indulge in food cravings, but only 8 percent reach for something healthy, according to a national survey by Kelton Research. Dorfman recommends the Oh Mama! bar (about $1.50; ohmamabar.com) if you’re looking for an occasional fortified snack. It’s tasty (try the Chocolate Peanut Butter), and the amounts of vitamins and minerals aren’t over the top. Bar exam: Does your bar pass the test?
No matter what your needs, there are a few things to keep in mind when choosing an energy bar. Many are highly fortified, so you could end up with too much of some nutrients like iron and vitamin A. Look for bars with no more than 100 percent of your recommended daily allowance. Whole foods (raw ingredients like fruits and nuts that aren’t processed and have no added sugar) are best, of course. But if you don’t have time to make a peanut butter sandwich, and you want convenience or a boost of protein and vitamins, here’s what to look for—ideally—in any bar:

He is known for hijacking the radical Islamist news site Alneda, which was one of many sites used by Al-Qaeda to spread its message. As a result of this, Messner was a guest speaker at the National Defense University in April 2003.

A Democratic Congressman has warned that a panic atmosphere is being intentionally created in order to get the financial bailout billed passed, further stating that several members of Congress were told before Monday’s vote that martial law will be instigated in America if the legislation fails.

Congressman Brad Sherman of California’s 27th congressional district told the House in a speech yesterday evening that he personally knew of several Congressional representatives who have said they were threatened with the prospect of all out martial law should they vote in opposition to the $700 billion bailout.

Sherman essentially intimated that powerful forces who want the bill passed have attempted to blackmail elected representatives.

"The only way they can pass this bill is by creating and sustaining a panic atmosphere. That atmosphere is not justified." Sherman stated.

"Many of us were told in private conversations that if we voted against this bill on Monday that the sky would fall, the market would drop two or three thousand points the first day, another couple of thousand the second day, and a few members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no." The Congressman continued.

"That’s what I call fear mongering. Unjustified. Proven wrong. We’ve got a week, we’ve got two weeks to write a good bill. The only way to pass a bad bill is to keep the panic pressure on." Sherman urged.

Sherman has been a member of the House of Representatives since 1997 and also serves on the Committee on Financial Services along with Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

On the Eve of a second Congressional vote on the legislation, these revelations show that freedom in America is under direct attack. The Congress should instigate an immediate investigation into these serious allegations to uncover which private individuals and administration officials, if any, are involved with directly threatening a military takeover of the workings of the U.S. government.

Sherman’s comments follow those of Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX), who warned Monday that the only information he had received about the bailout was what talking points to use on the American people and that he had been thrown out of meetings for not blindly supporting the bill.

Ominously, Burgess also commented, “Mr. Speaker I understand we are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night.”

However, it must be stressed that the definition of martial law that Congressman Sherman is referring to is the full blown military suspension of the normal administration of justice, while rep. Burgess was referring to the temporary suspension of the rules and procedures of Congress by its leaders so that a bill can be passed quickly.

Sherman’s allegations of threats against elected representatives have also been echoed by outspoken political activist Lyndon LaRouche who told an audience "There are those in high positions who know that if they don’t allow this bill to pass, that there are people behind the Bush Administration who will force them to pass it or kill them…". LaRouche stated that well placed sources had told him that the use of armed troops to enforce the passage of the bill is "reality".

I don't want to "again" post the Executive Orders that were created by John F. Kennedy, and passed into law by our other Catholic president, William J. Clinton. But for a quick run down this is what they entail. (If you want to see them, click here) These executive orders declare that the United States Government can, and will seize all communications media, electric power, fuels, minerals, food supplies, farmland, farm equipment, personal cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, highways, seaports, water ways, health services, educational services, welfare services, postal services, banks, housing, railroads, and storage facilities. They will also round up as many American citizens as they wish for unpaid work forces under federal supervision and even split up families if they please. These laws are on the books as we speak.

What do you suppose will grant them the legal right do such things? Read Executive Order # 11501 which was placed under the list of orders I just summarized above. (By the way. This is happening in all countries. I am only reporting on the USA agenda)

This is why we see our economy failing. They need it to collapse so they can enforce the Executive Orders. Or in laymen's terms, enact martial law. Without it, the mark of Rome will remain forever out of reach. This is the exact same type of stranglehold Hitler had on his nation and the Jews before, what that Roman Catholic pawn termed, "a purifying of the races" began. This resulted in over six million dead.

These Executive Orders were put in place for a reason. When these laws were announced back in 1996 the economy was booming, and as sheeple usually do, they follow along with the herd thinking all is well. But in less then 12 years of passing these unjust laws, we now see the economy going from good to worse right before our eyes. What's worse is those of us that research this know all of it could have been avoided by simply blowing the whistle on the men that caused it all. This is not something that happened by chance. This was purposely planned. But then that would mean we would be able to stop the prophecied end result now wouldn't it? I am pleased to say, that won't happen! Our God is very capable of exposing such an agenda with crystal clarity long before that day arrives. This is "one" of the reasons the enemy of souls is so focused on ridding the earth of real Christians as Revelation prophecies.

• Revelation 12:17, "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Not only do we expose Satan's lies by keeping the Law of God as prophecy said in the last book of the bible true Christians will be doing right before the end. But it also declares we have the "testimony of Jesus Christ." What is that you ask?

• Revelation 19:10, "...the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

The true Christians understand prophecy with uncanny ability because we have drawn nigh to Christ by worship, study, and obedience. We know today, what the Vatican is planning tomorrow, and that get's their blood up. Usually we are just tagged "a cult" but the truth is, the REAL cult is the Roman Catholic church. Every sign attributed to a cult has been documented in this church yet most with power ignore this because of her political prowess. Since most people don't read or trust Bibles, thanks mostly to the Vatican's attack on the Word of God, they are none the wiser. So the Vatican plays the moral card and they all believe it.

• Revelation 13:3-4, "... all the world wondered after the beast. ...Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" ."

So yes, they will do as they plan because it is prophecied to occur. These laws will help in forcing most of the world to follow Satan over Christ. Most of what the Executive Orders speak of won't be long lived in that they will try to make society appear as if it's moving along as normal. A false sense of security works wonders on large scales like this. Truth is, the bulk of the unjust laws will be focused on God's people anyway. The wicked won't realize much of what we see because of their prophecied blindness, as well as their willingness to accept the mark of the Roman beast. They will literally be "walking dead." Without drawing nigh to Christ by studying His Word each day, they will be very easy prey.

• Amos 8:11, "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:"

Only those that understand prophecy will be wise to all that's happening. The rest will be pawns in the hands of Satan, who will convince them to do all they can against us to ensure their livelihood is kept intact. Nice thing about being a Christian is that we can handle such trials with smiles. We have been trained by the Master. Jesus has already overcome the world and educated us on that fact. Our duty is to recruit as many for Heaven as we can. So even as Rome was unable to stop the forward flow of the Gospel in her first prophecied hellish reign by killing hundreds of millions, they will still be unsuccessful in their final reign thanks to the Latter Rain falling more abundantly.

Many false preachers are proclaiming a seven year tribulation, or 1000 years of peace for their flocks. They will easily be deceived into a false sense of security by clamoring to the preachers that tickle their ears. But the Loud Cry we proclaim that brings their sins to the forefront, which in turn causes us to become a threat to Rome's agenda, will still cut some hearts for Christ. Yes, some of us Christians will have a hard row to hoe, but it's so worth it. And again, the wicked may not even be aware how bad it is, because Jesus plainly said...

• Matthew 24:37-39, "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

Life won't change much for them. In Noah's day before the floods came they were doing as they did every other day of their lives without a care in the world. But like back then, today when the wicked proclaim, "...Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." -1 Thessalonians 5:3

Until the seventh plague comes, most of the wicked won't be aware of the prophetic changes all around them. Scientists and false preachers have already been making up bogus scientific excuses for climatic changes and strange disasters already. And yes, the majority are falling for their lies as if they are Gospel truth. So no, they won't realize the changes in their day to day lives. However, our lives will change for the better that great and dreadful day...

• 1 Corinthians 15:51-58, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

If any nation comes to accept the ten commandments as the unchanging moral standard regulating the moral conduct of all men, what an awesome change will happen in that nation. If you ignore these standards of God your on a road of self destruction. God will judge those who violate these laws, and those who degrade them or demeaning their value in anyway. You will be judged by all mighty God who is just.
You cannot be saved by the ten commandments, these are for us to realize that we need the love of God and the forgiveness of God.
