The Kyoot Army top from the last post was too cute to pass on a little mixing. This outfit is cute and a bit tomboy. Very comfy. My boots are adorable, but I'm thinking I want to put a mod size script in them to make them fit my feet better. If that's even possible..? I'm a fashion writer people! You tell me! :D

When you buy a good piece, experiment with it. I think it's easy to wear something one way all the time. The beauty is in the odd coupling, for me at least. I love that 'ah-ha' moment of discovery when you pair something and it works. I think, for this top, I'll try to glam it up next.

Hi Lovlies,

It feels like it's been forever. Probably because it has. I have had so much trouble with my internet lately, or maybe it was Flickr, something... I haven't been able to upload any of my photos to Flickr without the dreaded *bonk* response. Heartbreaking really. Maddinging too.

Anyhoo, I've seem to have fixed this problem by drop-kicking my old internet provider for a faster one. This means more Better Imagined with less wait time. And that is something to celebrate isn't it? ;)) Now, on with the show as I have SO MUCH to catch you up on.

This picture and the one at the top of the post were both taken at Plunder, a way cool airship shopping extravaganza in the sky. They have some cool shops there, and it's also where I bought my top, belt and jeans. The top is from Kyoot Army and I had been eyeing it at the main shop for a surprisingly long time (I have little willpower when it comes to cute clothes, so how I held out on this shirt is beyond me.) The belt is also from K.A. and the detail is amazing. A good belt makes jeans feel special. :))

The jeans are from Desert Moon Clothiers and I like their distressed, worn, faded look. You get a skinny pair to tuck in boots and the pair I am wearing for L$125. Not bad I'd say. I'm thinking of getting the distressed grey wash as well. We'll see how long I last.

The boots are from Bax and they seem to be making the circuit of all the girls in the know. I'd ran across them while sim hopping, a huge billboard of them looming the horizon. Let's just say it was love at first sight. Mind you they aren't cheap- L$700- but they are a classic shape done well, they have a bunch of color change options, some lace socks to adorn the tops (I have yet to play with those yet), and a heel click adjustment. When it comes to shoes, you get what you pay for, and these you'll have forever. They also come in suede but I think the black patent is by far the most swoon-worthy.

Hair is Sky Everett and if you're a hair junkie you're already addicted to her styles. A little bit dramatic in an Elvira sort of way, a little fancy, and way sexy. I wear her hairs with everything, all the time. Sometimes with nothing too. ;))

So I promised I would create a shirt for the top #5 contributors of my fund raising.

I think I found an idea. My friend JJ is wearing a shirt I made on the picture you see. That's the phrase we wanted me to put on the shirt:

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

(except maybe ::1)

That is one of the geekiest shirt I know of :D

Anyway, I want to borrow the idea for the plone shirt, and write, beside the Plone logo:

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

(except maybe #plone on freenode)

That is, to express the fact that the Plone community is a really friendly one, and it's great to be part of it.

EDIT: I have better proposals from the two Alex:

$ whois plone

127.0.0.1

and:

There is no place like Plone

and:

Plone, I wish I knew how to quit you

and:

Did you mean Plone ?

I am hesitating now.... :)

I recognize right away that I am in no way a fashion genius. To put it simply, I am a teenager with eyes. Now, the subject of 'Uggs' being the absolutely most disgusting-looking boots to walk the face of the Earth has already been well-discussed by others. Due to this, I wont force any potential readers to sit and listen to my pointless rants about them.

However, there is one recent fashion item that seems to be 'all the rage-' in my school, at least. And, dear god, do they look awful. To start it off, I am all for crocheting, knitting, and etcetera. I honestly feel that some of the scarves and cardigans really look lovely, so I have nothing against that art-form in its wholeness.

It's when I notice a ton of teenage girls (or even adults, too) walking around with flouncy tops that are adorned by ugly pattern-crocheted straps that makes me just want to barf on their shoes, uggs or not. Or, to be honest, I'm not even sure if 'crochet' is the correct term. That's just what it looks like to me- a rough pattern made from some really thick string. If I could find a picture, I would post it. Google search just is not being very friendly with me today (hence why I also feel that I might be using the wrong term).

Delicate designs of flowers should not be haphazardly pieced together with thick ugly string, and then slapped onto an otherwise slinky and lightweight top (babydoll, tank-top, etcetera; cotton, nylon, etcetera). It looks out of place, unbalanced, poorly done, and downright hideous. I have yet to witness a person who is actually able to make this look 'work.'

Feel free to disagree with me, anyone; I believe that everyone has their own views on fashion, and I am therefore not one to disregard anyone else's opinions. This is just a recent craze that I simply cannot for the life of me understand. As such, I am expressing my own opinion. I felt that it would make a good topic to post/rant about, regardless of whether or not it is actually read (and to be honest, I really do not expect anyone to read this. Just felt that, well, it's been awhile and I should probably just post my thoughts on any random topic.). :)

Jeans: Same

Hair: Still from Gritty Kitty

The thing that I dig the most from Machang Pinchot's guys' clothing is her attention to detail. She understands the male shape more than some designers. For instance, how many times have you put on a shirt or pants with prim attachments and the attachable sleeves were six sizes too small and you had to stretch them or resize them yourself? It makes me wonder if some designers use midgets for sizing on their gear for guys. It's actually become a pet peeve of mine. That and really short shirts. I'm not a designer and I will never claim to be, but one thing that I do know is that when designing mens' gear, you should keep in mind that we come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colors and preferences. Some guys dig tight pants, while some (like me) prefer them loose with room to move. If you're going to add a prim collar or sleeves, keep in mind that we aren't all the same size. I had that slight problem with Gritty Kitty's Chutte Pants. It took me an hour or so to stretch the pants cuffs out enough that they fit right and by the time I finished, I didn't want to look at them, due to frustration.

I try very hard to not practice nepatism. It's another pet peeve of mine when someone gives friends preferential treatment based on friendship alone and not actions or talents. Machang is a friend of mine, but that's not why I'm blogging her gear. Look at them in the photos. They are REALLY good, high quality shirts! No nepatism necessary to see that.

So today was the day that all parents know will come.. they just don't know when.

I asked our son to put on his pyjama.. so he started undressing. But when he should put on his pyjama he found only the pants.. no underwear and no shirt. And I was 110% sure that I put them all in a nice pile on the couch. I asked if he knew where they were.. answer was no. And he looked for them - didn't find.

After a while I found them in the laundry!! and then he told me he hid them there because he wanted other underwear and another shirt.

Fine.. other underwear and shirt wouldn't have been such a disaster. It's more the principle. He shouldn't lie to me. And also he is not old enough to always decide on what to wear. He would seriously take a fleece shirt a hot summer day, and shorts in the middle of the winter.. he isn't smarter than that. I told him already many times that when he gets older he can make such desicions on his own. But for now - we are sometims deciding for him - and sometimes giving him a few options to chose from. He is free to have opinions - but the final decision is on us.

Well.. this was just a little episode.. My main question here is.. How should I deal with it when he is lying to me? What is the best way to make him understand that he has nothing to gain by lying?

Plastic collar stays.
These stays were nice. Had standard sizes. Met my requirements for dress shirts. Collar stays are very helpful when taking good care of dress shirts and maintaining your appearance. I think every man should have a set of nice collar stays to keep looking good each day. Various lengths will help fit different size collars.

I like the plastic holder vs. everyone else putting them in a baggy.

Reader disclaimer: Due to the vastness of this topic, please be warned that this post will be significantly longer than previous posts and very picture-heavy. Happy browsing.

The T-Shirt is a staple in fashion in the United States, popularized during WWII by the American soldiers who admired the versatility of the lightweight British soldiers' undershirts. Since that time, the T-shirt has been immortalized by people like James Dean and Elvis, bringing depth to an other-wise unremarkable design. These shirts are easy and comfortable because they are button-, zipper-, collar-, and sleeve-free and soft to perfection thanks to their jersey knit.

Their Way

T-Shirt reconstruction, although it may not seem it, is a very broad subject and can be divided into the following categories:

1. No-Sew (customizing a shirt without sewing it)
