Name one thing you miss about being a child.

I actually sat really long thinking about this. I don't think I miss anything in particular.. Thinking back, most of what I remember is friends left behind, being bullied, crying before going to school - sometimes even throwing up because I didn't want to go. Feeling out of place because I was different and better than the other kids in school. Horrible dentists... ;)
But one thing I DO miss... my old school in Harare. Best school ever, hands down. Probably the happiest I've ever been in a school, ever. And I miss our old house, too - we had a huge garden full of colourful flowers, a large lawn, a huge avocado tree with a swing set underneath.. It was rusty as all hell, but I miss that too. :)

If you could learn another language, which one would you pick, and why?

Just one? Well, right now, it would be Chinese or Japanese. Chinese is the practical one, as China's economy is booming and we'll be having a lot of business with them in the future - and knowing Chinese will definitely be a boost for my future career. But for more ... aesthetic reasons, Japenese. I admire ancient Japanese culture. I'm not sure what I think about it right now (30 year old women pretending to be school girls, vending machines that pop out used(!!!) panties (supposedly) worn by school girls, etc.) but they definitely have some interesting history! And I like how it sounds better than Chinese. ;)

(My third would be Greek. Totally awesome language!!)

Pregnant. :D No, I don't know. Married, pregnant and/or done with my education. Huh. I'll probably most definitely be done with my education, more unsure about the other two. I'd like to have a house, or at least a nice apartment with more than one room.

... washed my Dublin Bay socks for the first time:

(They bled like all hell. I rinsed them twice or thrice after this picture was taken, and the water looked the same. Then I gave up. I completely forgot about the vinegar after I was done, but maybe I'll give them some next time. They don't appear to have faded, but we'll see...)

... frogged my 28thirty sleeve:

(and did some so-so calculations of how to place the decreases. I need to decrease 12 stitches over the course of 19 ridges, but I can't decide whether to space them out at first and then close in at the end, or do a lot first and then space them out toward the end. The sleeve size wasn't too bad around the lower part of my arm, just above and around the elbow. Hmm.)

... blocked out the pieces for the baby cardigan:

(and it now fits a giant baby with very short arms. The pieces grew HUGE while wet. Everything grew over an inch longer - except the sleeves, really. I'm hoping they'll shrink back, otherwise I have a problem - and then I'll be inclined to throw the whole thing away. Stupid yarn. Stupid baby sweater. I loathe it at this point, and really do NOT want to sew it up. I tried patting them shorter; we'll see if I succeeded once it's dry.

Oh, and that there is a swatch out of my Merino Silk yarn. It pills and sheds like a mofo, even when I washed it. Loose fibers everywhere! It looks like I'm getting a gauge of 25 sts per 4" on 3.25 mm. needles, which is smaller than I thought. Hopefully it'll stop shedding soon, and I can start planning a project... If it looks like it's been worn 50 times already just by knitting and washing, I don't know what I'm going to do!)

... and I baked a cake:

(I made it with my brother, and he went to work straight after it was done so I've promised not to touch it yet. It smells DELICIOUS, though. It's a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, one of those easy-bake ones. It came out very well, I think! ... I hope he gets home soon.)

About 3 weeks ago. The good thing about the salon I go to, they have free iced tea or coffee! My hairdresser is the wife of my mom's hairdresser. They work in the same salon but in different branches. My hairdresser's hubby did my H&M during my wedding.

Carefree living! Nothing to worry about. You could do what you want and just get reprimanded when mistakes are committed.

Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist?

I was a pessimist. It seems when I think negative on things, the opposite way happens. For a long time, I cling into this idea. It's advantageous on my part, everything goes well. But eventually, I let go. It exerted so much effort in just thinking negatively on things. Way too bad for health, I suppose. I think this proves that everything is not in your control. Way better to be optimistic on things and just learn to choose to be happy, think happily and live happily.

Black :) It's more formal.

None. But if I get the opportunity, I'll just have them done on a salon.

Well, I've never had either (and pedicures totally skeeve me out. I'm not about to let someone who touches other people's feet for a living touch my feet. Gross). But I paint my fingernails, maybe once every month. And my toe nails, maybe once a month in the summer.

Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist?

Absolutely, positively, an optimist. I'm a firm believer that if you believe it to happen, then by golly, it will happen. Why? Because you subconsciously make it happen. And those things that happen? Can be good things AND/OR bad things. The power of believing is amazing, so keep those thoughts positive, believe good things will happen and they will happen.

Yes folks, it really IS that simple. :)

What is your favorite color of ink to write with?

Black. And the tip must not be too thin because then it makes that soft scratching noise and that makes my teeth vibrate and ache.

But then again, I avoid actually writing longhand at all costs. I would MUCH rather type out my thoughts than write them down. One, because I think better when I'm typing and two, I'm a bit ashamed of my handwriting - it's overly loopy, sloppy and childlike and it embarrasses me. I wish I had handwriting like my mother's; her longhand is so pretty and feminine looking.

My handwriting? Yep, you guessed it - it looks like an Amazon woman who scrawled something in a hurry because she needed to get back out into the wild to hunt for food.

What, are you kidding me?? Have you ever known an Amazon woman to have pretty nails? Look at my nails ... go on, look at them. *holds up hands* I do not have any nails. They are short and unpainted and will always look like this. I have no desire, none, to have my nails sport any kind of wacky color or insane design. And the thought of them being long enough to clickity-clack against the keys of my keyboard set my teeth on edge (apparently, all of my annoyances manifest themselves through my teeth - go figure).

I think having nice nails is ... nice. But not for me. I often wonder how women, who keep their nails painted and a certain length, actually get any work done. Or DO they get any work done? I've always preferred to work with my hands, whether that's typing, vacuuming out my car, scrubbing toilets or ... whatever. I have enough to think about as it is, I don't need (nor have the patience for) the added burden of worrying about whether I'm going to break a nail or not. How ... girly. *snort*

And pedicure? You get one foot (get it? Foot??) from my feet and I'm going to be very cranky with you. I can't stand feet, let alone my own. There is no way in HADES I'm allowing anyone to get within sniffing distance of my feet, let alone actually TOUCH them. *shiver* Ew.

The only time I've ever won anything online was during Buy a Friend a Book Week (BAFAB). It was SO FUN to have the book, of my choice, delivered to me for free!! In fact, the next BAFAB week is coming up fast (the first week of July), so I'm hoping to enter more giveaways so that it can happen again.

BWHAHAHAHA! *wipes tears* Oh, if you could only see our house then you would understand my hilarity.

We have a computer in every single room of our house - well, almost. The boys each have one in their rooms, I have TWO on my desk, the husband has TWO in his office and there's one in the kitchen, and I have my laptop in the dining room. In fact, a guy that my husband works with just recently gave him his old laptop because he said the technician who looked at it advised him to just buy a new one, that it would cost too much to fix.

*SNORT* Of course they're going to tell you that! (He thinks either the hard drive needs to be reformatted, or that it just needs a new hard drive).

However, my husband has built enough computers and knows the ins and outs of computers so well, that I'm confident he'll fix this guy's old laptop and we'll have yet another computer that we can put ... somewhere. Maybe in the garage? :D

Okay, so I'm kidding. Most likely, my husband will fix this guy's old laptop and give it back to him because that's just the way my husband rolls - he's honest that way.

Which kind of bums me, because having a computer in the garage would have been sorta cool. ;)
